About the Author
M.C. Beaton
M.C. Beaton was the prolific Scottish author of over 170 novels. A former journalist, she began writing historical romances in 1978 which were published under a variety of pen names. But she found greater fame with the publication of her first detective story Death of Gossip, which introduced the world to the likeable workshy Highland policeman Hamish Macbeth. And with Agatha Raisin and the Quiche of Death, the world instantly fell in love with the eponymous heroine despite, or perhaps because of, her many human failings.
